Children's Law Center

Founded in November, 2005 the Children's Law Center(CLC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency exclusively dedicated to addressing the concerns of children. Like the other children's law centers of North Carolina, CLC is committed to providing advocacy for children in areas in which no other agency is providing or could provide legal assistance.

Currently the staff consists of attorneys and volunteers, all working pro bono. The volunteer pool of pro bono attorneys,
who will be donating more than 3,000 hours annually, is between 40 and 50. Our Board of Directors consists of various professionals who offer their time and expertise. CLC’s approach is to make the most of a community-wide pool of volunteers from different disciplines.

The mission of the Children's Law Center of Central North Carolina (CLC) is to provide quality legal representation
and advocacy for children in legal and administrative proceedings and to promote improvement and understanding with their families of those processes. The ultimate goal of CLC is to enable these children to become emotionally healthy adults leading productive, fulfilled lives. Until now, there has been no organization in existence in Forsyth County or Central North Carolina which has addressed these needs.
