Law School Interns
The CLC partners with pro-bono attorneys who donated more than $300,000 in billable hours assisting our clients in 2017-18. Contact Iris Sunshine to volunteer.
Law students of any year are invited to apply to intern with CLC. Past interns have attended Wake Forest University, Elon University, the University of Michigan, The University of Notre Dame, the University of North Carolina, and Emory University. CLC is able to provide internships for only a very few undergratuate students each year.
Development Committee members organize events, do research on potential grant funding, and stay in touch with CLC's loyal donors. This work is overseen by the director of development, Susan Conley. Comfort with Microsoft Word and Excel are needed.
The Courthouse Research team will follow up with the big question in our closed cases: then what happened? By utilizing courthouse records, we will contribute to ongoing research on our methodology and outcomes. This position will work closely with the new Custody Advocate to gather information for an academic-level study. Comfort with searching on mainframe data systems, Microsoft Word and Excel are needed.
Our Legal Records team is forming now to support the work of our Staff Attorneys. Since CLC has no support staff, this skilled group of volunteers will maintain order in our case files and provide general assistance in the office. The Legal Records team will organize and extract information for an academic-level study of our past cases. Comfort with Microsoft Word and Excel are needed.
We Need Volunteers!
CLC staff is small for the caseload we manage. Volunteers make a huge difference! Please consider how you can help.
