Welcome
Welcome to the Children's Law Center of Central North Carolina, the leading advocate for children's legal issues in Forsyth County. If you are visiting our site for the first time, we hope that you will find useful information about our mission: advocating for children in legal proceedings. Our clients may be small, but the issues they face are large. We are the voice for children involved in domestic violence, high conflict custody and education issues involving the public school system. We are committed to making Forsyth County and Central North Carolina a safer place for children - one family at a time.
Guardian ad Litem: One who protects and represents the child for the purpose of a court action.
The Children's Law Center's Guardians ad Litem (GALs) represent the ''best interests" of the children involved in domestic violence cases and hotly contested custody cases.
Thanks to a change in NC law concerning temporary custody within Chapter 50B cases, these children finally have an advocate in court.
